Diane Lemmons Among First-Ever Graduates of New Certified Texas Economic Developer Program

As one of the first graduates of the Certified Texas Economic Developer (CTED) program, Diane Lemmons receives her certification from Lisa Mutchler, Director of the Texas A&M Engineering & Extension Service.
The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC), in partnership with the Texas A&M Engineering & Extension Service (TEEX), is proud to announce that Diane Hayes Lemmons of The Colony Economic Development Corporation is among the first graduates of the Certified Texas Economic Developer (CTED) program.
The CTED program is the highest distinction of knowledge and credibility for Texas-based economic development practitioners. It is an expert-led, peer-driven certification program for active economic developers with a tailor-made curriculum unique to Texas.
Diane is one of only 12 economic development professionals who completed the advanced curriculum in economic development and satisfied all requirements of the CTED program and are now bestowed with the honor of the earned Certified Texas Economic Developer designation.
Diane has also been promoted to the position of Assistant Director of Economic Development. She has been with The Colony Economic Development Corporation since 2017 and has been instrumental in all facets of the organization’s business retention and expansion initiatives.
She is also active in the community through The Colony Chamber of Commerce and the Lewisville ISD, where she serves as a business mentor for the INCubator Program at The Colony High School.
The Texas Economic Development Council is governed by a 24-member board and a 9-member Executive Committee. The TEDC provides information, education and legislative services to its members to foster the expansion of existing businesses, the location of new firms and the development of strategies that promote a positive business climate in Texas. With more than 1,000 members, the TEDC is the largest state economic development association in the nation.
