The Colony Economic Development Corporation concluded its 25th Anniversary year in December by supporting several local small businesses, including Ollio Patisserie.

Ollio Patisserie is owned and operated at 7552 Main St. by Chef Golda Sumpon, who spun a 20-year, globe-trotting career in IT into her real passion. Always a foodie at heart, Chef Sumpon was able to experience culinary traditions from around the world during these travels.

Chef Sumpon learned not only how to prepare food, but also the science behind food that comes together with many ingredients. Thus, the name “Ollio”, which means “a dish of many ingredients”.

Chef Sumpon left the IT industry to pursue a formal education in culinary arts, pastry arts and hospitality management. It was clearly the right move as she and her patisserie have been featured in many magazines and television shows as they treat customers from near and far to scrumptious creations that are made with the purest ingredients.

“There is only one Ollio in Texas, and it is right here in The Colony,” said Keri Samford, Executive Director of Development. “We are so pleased to support Chef Sumpon in expanding production capabilities and her amazing establishment.”
